What a deal!

After spending time with family and reflecting on why we are thankful during Thanksgiving, the holiday frenzy begins! If your family is like mine, you have probably already gotten a start on your holiday shopping. With Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and all of the other seasonal sales, it is difficult to ignore holiday deals. The DMA isn’t where most families go to find the latest toy or gadget to wrap up for a loved one (although our gift shop does have some amazing items), but what about all of the other experiences the Museum has to offer?

Visit the Museum on the weekend to enjoy Studio Creations. This month, learn about different types of hats worn in traditional African societies in the African Headwear: Beyond Fashion exhibition and then use paper to sculpt your own one-of-a-kind hat in the studio.
Cost: Free with Museum admission ($10 per adult and children 12 and under are free)

Beautiful hats! A fashionable family

  • Try out yoga in the galleries, make a work of art in the studio, or hear our award-winning storyteller, Ann Marie Newman as she entertains your family with stories inspired by our collection during Late Nights at the DMA.
Cost: Free with Museum admission ($10 per adult and children 12 and under are free)
