Walking through the galleries after a class one day, Leah, Amanda, and I stumbled upon this amazing sight! The museum preparators were installing James Lee Byar’s 1986 sculpture, The Figure of Death in the Barrel Vault for the upcoming Silence and Time exhibition. As you can see, the 23 foot sculpture takes quite a production to put in place. Another installation challenge for this exhibition, will be Bojan Šarčević’s 2010 sculpture She, which weighs 1.7 tons, which can’t be easy to transport! You can check out these colossal works after the exhibition opens May 29th.

I spy a preparator at the top of the scaffolding. Can you find him? I hope he's not afraid of heights!
