Today is national Autism Awareness Day! To celebrate the day, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra combined forces to put on fun-filled Autism Awareness Family Celebration. Dallas Symphony Orchestra Music Director Jaap van Zweden and his wife Aaltje van Zweden-van Buuren attended the event and talked with families about their experience raising a child with autism and the benefits of music therapy. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra string quintet played music in Fleischner courtyard, and visitors had a chance to dance and conduct to the music using ribbons and streamers. It was a great morning, and we were so excited to have everyone come out to the event. Check out some photos below!
