What’s New in the Studio: March

Claude Monet, "The Seine at Lavacourt", 1880

Paul Signac, "Comblat-le-Château, the Meadow (le pré), Opus 161", 1887

Paint like an Impressionist or a Pointillist! For the month of March, our weekend Studio Creations activity for families will be focused on Impressionism and Pointillism. Pick up a free Family Gallery Guide in the Art Studio in the Center for Creative Connections for a fun, interactive way of experiencing the works of Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, and Paul Signac in the Museum’s galleries.

When you’re finished, come back to the Studio to paint your own masterpiece using q-tips and tempera paint; q-tips are especially good for duplicating the types of brushstrokes that Impressionist and Pointillist painters used.

Studio Creations is a drop-in  art making activity for families. Offered every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-3:30 p.m., each month offers a new project based on works of art in the Museum’s collection or special exhibitions. Studio Creations is free with paid admission to the Museum and no registration is required. All supplies are provided.
