Helmet mask (gye); Africa, Cote d'Ivoire, Guro peoples; mid-twentieth century; Dallas Museum of Art, The Otis and Velma Davis Dozier Fund

If you haven’t had a chance yet to visit the African Masks: The Art of Disguise exhibition, come on over this weekend and take a peek! I particularly love the section of the exhibit that focuses on spirits personified as animals. Challenge your children to try and find an antelope, warthog, elephant, buffalo, bird, butterfly, goat and leopard. It’s practially a zoo!
